With all the Air Jordans that dropped this year, the most unexpected one was the Air Jordan 4 “Manila”. Limited to only 150 pairs, the special pair was released to commemorate the opening of the first-ever (not to mention biggest) Jordan Brand store in Southeast Asia.

Because the pair is highly sought-after, the Air Jordan 4 “Manila” commanded crazy resell prices–with some asking for as much as Php 350k for a pair. The plot twist? None of the 150 pairs are deadstock, as everyone who got their pair had to wear them inside the Jordan brand store and pose for a photo op.

While it is Jordan brand’s way of preventing resellers to sell them in deadstock condition, those who managed to get a pair carefully worn them for the photo op–to the point of cleaning up those outsoles to make them VNDS (or very near deadstock).
