YOON is the co-founder of AMBUSH, a contemporary Japanese jewelry label born in 2008. It dove into apparel in 2015, using clothing as a canvas for their accessories. The brand has collaborated with trailblazers in the fashion industry, including NIGO and UNDERCOVER.

Now, YOON is the first woman to partner with Nike and NBA (emphasis on both), in an AMBUSH X Nike collab.

How awesome is that?

The collaboration features an apparel collection, complemented with an interpretation of the NIKE DUNK. YOON designed a pair that balanced the culture of sport, without losing the element of style. Inspired by Japanese bike, car and truck culture, the shoe’s design has an elongated and heightened form — with Swooshes extending beyond the heel like bike pipes.

The apparel, on the other hand, is indeed a balance of sporty and chic, and is very wearable in terms of style.

“I thought of all these amazing, strong female characters from the ’90s who would come out in men’s clothes, and I wanted to see how we could carry that attitude but bring in more feminine forms,” she shares in Nike’s press release, talking about the apparel collection.

The Nike x Ambush Dunk High is currently sold out in the Nike PH website, while Commonwealth Philippines will be giving it away to the winners of their online raffle (registration ended on December 16, 5pm). It was globally launched last Dec. 11.
