When it comes to finding a trusty platform for buying and selling sneakers and streetwear, Ox Street is making its mark as the go-to buy and sell platform in the Asia Pacific Region. While they are based in Singapore, Ox Street is expanding also to the Philippines by having a dedicated local team in the country, with their main goal being to make buying and selling sneakers easier, and give peace of mind to buyers that they are purchasing only authentic items–be it sneakers or streetwear.

Despite the Philippines being a relatively small country, Marketing Manager Jasper Delegencia explains that Ox Street sees the Philippines as a major market for its platform. While Ox Street is relatively new with its operations in the Philippines, Delegencia said that Filipinos are among the most passionate sneakerheads in the world.

“The Nike Dunk Low ‘Panda’ and ‘Valerian Blue’, the Jordan 1 Low ‘Bred’ and ‘Shadow Toe’, and the Travis Scott Air Max 1 ‘Baroque Brown’ are the Top 5 most purchased sneakers in June while the Jordan 1, Dunk Lows, and Yeezys are the most searched sneakers in general for the same month,” Delegencia explains.

While Dunks remain a staple for sneakerheads in the Philippines, Delegencia also notes the rise in popularity of New Balance sneakers and Yeezy Slides. A little fun fact: there was a 5x increase in the search for New Balance sneakers in the Philippines in 2022 compared to 2021!

With this in mind, Ox Street believes that an authentication process is also important even in the Philippines. For context, the counterfeit goods market is worth $35.9 billion in 2018–and that’s just for the ASEAN region alone.

“We have access to any pair of sneakers from a trusted source, giving us the necessary reference for what the real product should look and feel like. We developed a proprietary protocol to capture all key details of the shoes in high resolution. This database then serves as a reference when we encounter the same shoes again later. After a sneaker is entered into our authentication database, the process is greatly sped up so your pair gets to you at the earliest time possible,” Delegencia explains how Ox Street has a robust sneaker authentication process.

Aside from sneaker authentication, Ox Street aims to be a reliable middleman between resellers and buyers, assuring customers of peace of mind, knowing that the pair they are purchasing has been authenticated.

“Treating our users well, growing relationships, and ultimately making Filipino sneakerheads’ experience using Ox Street as smooth as possible are the core principles to providing assurances for buyers and sellers in the Philippines — making Ox Street not only authentic in sneakers but in how we approach our community as well,” Delegencia elaborates on their plans for Ox Street in the Philippines.
