With the class of 2021 graduating pretty soon, Jordan Brand is out to celebrate the milestone with the Air Jordan 5 Low Wings. We rarely see the low-cut version of the Air Jordan 5, and the concept for this colorway is something worth talking about.

While it is decked in a straightforward black and gold colorway, there is a lot of details with the upper. You get a mix of nylon and soft leather for the upper–which is a rather unusual combination for a sneaker that is positioned as a premium sneaker. Gold accents adorn the Jumpman logo and the 20/21 stitching on the heel. Yes, the stitching does refer to the graduating class of 2021–making it a fitting sneaker to rock for graduation rites (assuming your school allows you to wear sneakers).

To bring in the celebratory details, unique touches include a tassel, a flat Wings hangtag in black, a foil-like branding on the insoles, and a special “Jordan Wings Class of 2021” branding at the back of the tongue.

Of course, this pair isn’t a true Air Jordan 5 without retaining some of the 1990 sneaker’s key design elements: 3M on the tongue, translucent outsoles and side netting, and lacelocks.

Air Jordan 5 Low Wings Release Date and Price

There’s no set release date yet for the Air Jordan 5 Low Wings, though reports say that it should drop sometime in May for $175(~Php 8.5k). The pair is also expected to be available locally via Nike SNKRS and Titan, so stay tuned for their release mechanics.

This 2018 version is far more colorful than the 2021 version.

Oh, and in case you were wondering: this is the second Wings model under the Air Jordan 5 line, as there was a regular-cut Wings model that came out back in 2018. This version has colorful graphics and is pretty rare to find–current StockX prices are pegged at around $400 for this particular sneaker.
