The great thing about the sneaker scene today is the variety of options that you have across all price points. The truth is you don’t need to spend a lot to have great sneakers in your wardrobe. There are a lot of timeless classics below $100 (P5,000) and there are new silhouettes going down to that price range because of seasonal sales. Let’s take a look at some of your options.

Best Sneakers for Men Under $100 (P5,000)

1. Nike React Hybrid Sneakers on Sale

The Nike Air Max 270 React

The Nike Air Max 270 React and Nike Presto React feature a combination of a previous silhouette and the latest cushioning technology of Nike, REACT. The Nike Air Max 270 React retails usually for above P7,000 while the Presto react goes for a little above P6,000. Today both sneakers are well below P5,000 via the Nike Philippines website. Once the lockdown is over you can probably cop them for that same price at outlet stores when they re-open.

2. Timeless Leather Classics from adidas and Nike

Triple White AF1 FTW

Like what I mentioned in the intro, you can consider going for classics under $100. You have a lot to pick from but I’d recommend the following: Nike Air Force 1, Air Jordan 1 Low, adidas Stan Smith, adidas Superstar, adidas Continental 80, & the Nike Cortez.

Here’s a quick video review of the Air Jordan 1 Low (2020):

3. Vans Sneakers

Vans x Rhude collaboration

Another great budget-friendly brand is Vans. They have a solid general release selection under P3,000 and most of the collaboration pairs are just at the P5,000 price point. This includes my personal favorite — their collaboration with Filipino-American designer RHUDE. They also have a collaboration with Filipino owned sneaker and streetwear shop, Commonwealth.

My only tip is that you get a feel for the shoes before you buy them. They’re not all comfortable so it would be best to test before you add to cart online.

Check out Vans on Zalora.

4. Local Brands: World Balance

World Balance burst into the streetwear scene in a big way last year when they launched the World Balance Invictus. It was a ridiculously good pair of kicks for just P2,100 making it the default “pambansang sapatos”. Since the initial release, they’ve introduced several colorways and collaborations, including a Star Wars pack. If you are on a tight budget and you’re looking for beater everyday lifestyle kicks, you just can’t go wrong with them.

5. Premium Running Sneakers on Sale
If you’re lucky, you should be able to chance upon premium running sneakers such as the adidas Ultra Boost or the Nike Epic React Flyknit at 40%-50% sale. This usually happens during end-of-season sales or when they introduce new models of the said sneakers. For example, when adidas launched the Ultra Boost 20, the Ultra Boost 19 had several weeks of discount (30%-50%) for weeks leading to the launch.

When the lockdown is over, you might want to take a trip to the outlet because they usually have amazing deals of those sneakers sitting on shelves.

And those are 5 great options for you guys to consider. If you want more, I’ve embedded a video at the very top of this post which shows you up to 10 options. Give it a watch, a like, a share, and then let us know what you think in the comments section down below. 🙂
