Among the numerous collaborations in the streetwear industry, Fear of God x Nike has stood out in terms of both hype and design. However, unexpected recent news has shocked us that this collaboration will no longer be churning out new products. Instead, Fear of God and founder Jerry Lorenzo, have decided to partner up with the brand with three stripes – Adidas.

During the several years of the FoG and Nike partnership, we were met with varying designs across apparel and sneakers. Each release never failed to impress streetwear fans and fashion critiques alike. Challenging the traditional ideas of luxury and sportswear, the FoG and Nike partnership paved the way for new design ideas and concepts.

With this, the decision of Fear of God to bring their design talents to adidas is not just bitter, but sweet as well. This can be seen as Jerry Lorenzo states:

“This is a fearless move where shared vision and conviction are at the heart of the accretion of two brands shaping sports and culture, with the purpose to truly multiply our nuanced strengths to revolutionize the performance basketball industry forever,”

Although this news comes as a surprise considering FoG has just released an extensive line of apparel with Nike and the NBA last month, the new partnership makes sense. With basketball at the forefront of this initiative, it will be extremely interesting to see the reimagined path both brands take in order for the sport to reach new heights.

Fear of God and Adidas has yet to announce details of their very first release, but we can expect to see some new products sometime in 2021. While we are unsure of the exact direction this new partnership will take, fans are left using their imagination regarding what the two icons will offer.
