After resurfacing back in 2018 as an A Cold Wall collaboration with an exaggerated heel clip–and later in 2019 as a NikeLab pair, Nike is bringing back the Vomero 5 once again in 2022 in a vintage-inspired Oatmeal colorway.

It may be just three years since we last saw the Vomero 5, but bringing it back in 2022 is a wise decision for Nike, especially with New Balance killing it in the sneaker game with its 2000s-era running sneakers (and their updated versions). Looking at the renders of the 2022 Vomero 5 in Oatmeal, it seems that not much has changed from the NikeLab versions that came out back in 2019.

The most notable difference is the treatment of the sneaker, as the use of Oatmeal and Pale Ivory gives the Vomero 5 a nice weathered retro look that’s in line with recent sneaker trends. adding accents to the sneaker are light blue on the outsole, lace holders on the tongue, tongue tag, and mini Swoosh on the heel, and Chocolate on the outsole and part of the Cushlon midsole. Like previous Vomero 5 models, you get reflective linework on the toe and heel to complete the look.

Nike did not reveal when the Zoom Vomero 5 “Oatmeal” will drop, but it’s expected to be available by the end of the year (possibly a holiday release) for $160(~Php 9.2k). Given that we got the Vomero 5 locally before, expect these to release in the Philippines as well.
