Of all the sneakers World Balance has released in recent memory, they have gained much success with the Invictus. We’re not surprised, as the Invictus has that popular dad shoe silhouette that can be imagined in several ways–and that is the very reason why DJ Bigboy Cheng’s Secret Fresh loves the silhouette.

From the OG B69 and the B69 Ketchup and Mustard special models, Secret Fresh is back with another sick Invictus model with the “More Good Less Evil” version. We got our hands on a pair ahead of its official sale to give our thoughts on the upcoming Secret Fresh collab.

What’s different?

The most obvious difference with this model is the bold “More Good, Less Evil” statement on the lateral part of the sneaker, which is a motto everyone should live by especially in these trying times. Making this edition unique compared to the previous two Secret Fresh collabs is its use of translucent overlays in green and yellow, giving more visibility to that socially relevant statement.

The sneaker is done in a dominant cream colorway, with the mesh panels being an integral part of why the Invictus is a comfortable sneaker. Despite being affordable (yes, it is still priced at under Php 3K), World Balance switched up the materials: soft tumbled leather adorns the overlays of the toe box area, tongue, and part of the lacing area, while hairy suede is used for the heel and middle part of the lacing area.

Giving a nice pop are purple accents on the lace holes and heel counter, and bright yellow for the tongue and heel tabs. Completing the look are snakeskin-inspired rope laces, black and white midsoles, and milky outsoles.

The sizing and fit

Having owned the earlier Secret Fresh Invictus collabs, the “More Good Less Evil” edition has the same true-to-size fit, so just stick to your usual sizing. When it comes to the overall fit, it is very impressive how an under Php 3k sneaker is very comfortable with its midsole cushioning system (World Balance calls it Bounce Pad) and breathable mesh panels that ensures that your feet won’t get sweaty after a day of walking on them.

Where to buy them?

The World Balance x Secret Fresh Invictus “More Good, Less Evil” will be available on October 20 in limited quantities for Php 2,699. Expect them to be available at World Balance’s Lazada store and their online shop.

World Balance x Secret Fresh Invictus “More Good, Less Evil” Verdict

It has been almost two years since the Invictus came out, and World Balance acknowledges how it has become so influential in the local sneaker community by still coming up with fresh colorways. Paired that with constant collaborations with Secret Fresh, the Invictus remains to be more relevant than ever for both Pinoy brands.

With this “More Good, Less Evil” edition, Secret Fresh makes good use of World Balance’s most popular lifestyle shoe out there to make a statement–one that emphasizes that the world really, really needs a lot of kindness.
