While we all know Lacoste for their polo shirts and the trademark crocodile logo, the French brand is into creating lifestyle pieces that are geared towards today’s youth like the majority of luxury brands out there. Aside from L!ve, Lacoste is also active in the sneaker scene, producing casual pairs like the L001, which is the brand’s latest offering in the Philippines.
As part of the brand’s Play Collective campaign, the L001 gives a new twist to Lacoste’s tennis roots by incorporating familiar design elements into the sneaker that include references to the Rene, the first sneaker from Lacoste, along with a vintage racket handle design incorporated on the sneaker’s upper.
For this collection, the L001 arrives with a white leather base and comes in various colorways that include one with accents of burgundy and mustard yellow, one that makes use of green accents, and one with light gray accents.
For the L001 campaign, Lacoste tapped A$AP Nast as its endorser. The Harlem-born rapper is an avid fan of the brand, embodying “the spirit of the crocodile” in his performances and his sense of style.
