This year, we’ve seen several attempts by Levi’s to branch out to products other than their usual denim apparel such as their collaboration with LEGO. As it proved to be a good partnership, there’s no surprise that Levi’s has decided to reach out to another established brand once again. This time around, it’s New Balance.
The product of the collaboration is a new iteration of the iconic New Balance 992. The sneaker merges both worlds of the denim clothing and sports footwear companies by injecting subtle details within the silhouette. Similar to most New Balance models, the sneaker makes use of a suede upper with varying textures. While in true Levi’s fashion, gray denim replaces the usual mesh of the underlay segments.
As the majority of the sneaker is grey, red Levi’s branding found on the reflective “N” logo and insoles provides a refreshing contrast. Aside from this, we see the branding of the “992” model number on the sneaker’s collar, and “USA” on the heel area. While the sneaker does not only cater to aesthetics, the Levi’s x New Balance 992 boasts of an ABZORB midsole that ensures comfort throughout its wear.
With an expected price of $175(~Php 8.4k), the sneaker still does not have an official release date.
