As sneaker brands like Nike, Adidas, and Fila continue to churn out new sneaker models and re-releases of past designs, Louis Vuitton ensures that they are not left behind despite being a designer brand. Leading the way for their Spring Summer 21 (SS21) collection is the LV Fusion Derby Trainer.
This sneaker is one of a kind. In fact, it is a hybrid, combining the traditional Derby shoe style with the sole unit of a sneaker. The end result is a smart-casual design that offers both a formal and casual aesthetic. Rather than releasing just one colorway, Louis Vuitton has decided to offer three different colorway options in the same silhouette.
While the sneaker is constructed from a glazed calf leather upper, several other parts of the sneaker inject “sneaker-like” elements into the mix. Among these are the LV-emblazoned tongue made from mesh, plastic eyelets, and of course, as seen in the bright green and red colorway above, the sneaker sole unit.
On the other hand, the grey and white colorway offers a more traditional look. Staying away from bright colors, the colorway above is more suitable for formal occasions. If you’re trying to stay more low-key while rocking Louis Vuitton’s newest LV Fusion Derby Trainers, this is most probably the pair for you.
Changing things up a bit, the last colorway part of the collection makes use of a clean white glazed calf leather upper. To contrast this, hints of bright pink and blue occupy the sneaker sole unit, which is sure to turn heads. While the black colorways tend to be more conservative, this colorway serves to be more playful, intended for less formal events.
The Louis Vuitton LV Fusion Derby Trainer is currently available in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide as well as their official website for a retail price of $1330(~Php 64.5k). Are you planning on copping yourself a pair? Let us know!
