It’s common knowledge now to say that sneakers are becoming more of a luxury than an actual necessity. With all the hype surrounding them, we tend to forget that sneakers are bare essentials that one needs for daily wear. You know, ones you can beat up without worrying about anything.

The Cassius

Due to changing times when sneakers are fast becoming more and more expensive. There is that probability that you’d think cheaper means bad quality or even fakes. Well, One Up by World Balance redefines that. We’ve got here the “Cassius” in Black and the “Darko in Grey- sneakers that’s got more bang than the actual bucks.

The Darko

What’s Different?

Granted that they do look like World Balance sneakers, it’s honestly the surprising price point that drives the bacon home with these. Sure, they do look good–but if you told us that these pairs cost only a hair under Php 1k, we’d be pinching ourselves. Judging from their looks and quality, this is World Balance rising to the call of today’s times and we are fans of their approach.

The Fit and Sizing

We’d say you do get your normal size in these. The “Cassius” tends to have more room as they can be laced tight or loose. Overall, the “Cassius” is a chunky sneaker that reminds us of the Wave Runners from Kanye West. At least the chunkiness of it.

The “Darko”, on the other hand, has a sock-like design that hugs the feet more. It’s basically up to you–if you can check them out personally at a World Balance store, that’s the best thing to do.

Where to Buy Them?

Available via the One Up By World Balance page or your favorite World Balance branches, this is literally a steal. Can you imagine a comfortable, stylish shoe that’s One Peso shy of One Thousand Pesos? (Php 999) We still can’t get over it!

One Up by World Balance Verdict

If you’re leaning on the practical side of things but you still want to look good doing it, then look no further. This effort by the Pinoy to reach out to a wider market definitely works. For sure, it’s cheaper but it’s by no means less of a quality shoe. Definitely recommended for those who have a very tight budget!
