With all the Air Jordan retros, the Air Jordan 4 is one of the more famous ones–especially the Bred colorway that’s associated with Michael Jordan’s buzzer-beater-winning The Shot at the 1989 NBA Playoffs. Nike SB, on the other hand, has been stepping up its game lately with awesome collabs that include Gundam, Strangelove, a fresh Supreme collab, and a cool turkey-themed one with Concepts.

Nike SB did have special Air Jordan 1s with the Midnight Navy Low, UNC Low with Eric Koston, and a couple of Air Jordan 1s with Lance Mountain–the more famous one being the white paint-coated SB QS High from 2014.

Now, it seems that both Nike SB and Jordan brand are exploring collabs with other silhouettes, and Complex confirms that the next one will involve the Air Jordan 4.

Slated for a 2023 release, the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 will allegedly have a heel tab with a Nike SB logo, and will be retooled to suit skateboarders–expect it to have puffy tongues, added padding, and perhaps a Zoom Air unit. Nice Kicks speculates that the collab might use the iconic Bred colorway, which we think will make sense if they want to hype up the pair.

Alleged test sample of the Air Jordan 4 SB.

Aside from a possible Bred colorway, Nice Kicks also spotted what appears to be a test sample of the Air Jordan 4 SB in the Black Cat colorway under the feet of Eric Koston. Our take here is that Koston might be the one in charge of the Air Jordan 4 SB’s direction, just like how he did in a previous Air Jordan 1 Low SB.

Regardless of what will be the final colorway, an Air Jordan 4 SB is a dream, especially if you consider that Spike Lee himself did skate on a pair of White Cement Air Jordan 4s in Do the Right ThingShould they go for the Bred route, that would be the next best Air Jordan 4 collab especially since the Bred OFF-WHITE Air Jordan 4s will remain unreleased.

Too bad that they will remain unreleased.

Given the anticipation for this dream of a collab, we hope that Nike produces a lot of pairs (and not compromise on quality control) for all sneakerheads to enjoy. We don’t mind spending over Php 10k retail for them, as long as they prove to have top-notch quality.

What are your thoughts on the Air Jordan 4 SB?
